This is
my story

With a voice that projects the power and love of God, and a spirit that engages everyone she meets, Janessa Graham is poised to touch lives across the globe. A native of Chicago, Janessa began singing at the tender age of two and went on to minister for nine years with the legendary youth choir, Joshua’s Troop. Her gift of music and heart for ministry have shaped her into a dynamic gospel artist, educator, and motivator whose life’s work is rooted in faith and purpose.

Janessa made her way to Kentucky by attending the state’s oldest Historically Black College, Kentucky State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Child Development and Family Relations. During her time at KSU, she discovered a deeper passion for ministry while serving with campus ministries and local churches—laying the foundation for her spiritual and professional journey.

In 2021, Janessa founded Janessa’s Way, LLC—a social platform designed to promote positivity across the world through ministry, music, motivation, and education. Her brand, Janessa’s Way, represents her life philosophy: walking boldly in purpose and inspiring others to do the same. Answering her call to preach in 2016, Janessa became a licensed associate minister in 2018. She released her debut single “It Belongs to You – Psalms 18” in 2020, followed by her first album “Journal Entries” in July 2022—a musical reflection of her faith journey and personal growth.b In April 2024,Janessa released her next single, "God Will Take Care of You", which served as her personal tribute to her hometown.

Janessa’s academic achievements mirror her dedication to transformation and empowerment. She earned her Master of Science in Higher Education from Arkansas State University and is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Education from Purdue Global University, where she is set to graduate in June 2026. As both an educator and artist, she uses her platform to merge faith and education, encouraging others to live with purpose, confidence, and authenticity.

Janessa’s mission is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to all generations through her music, testimony, and message of hope. She is the beloved only child of her mother, Ella J. Poe, and the youngest daughter of her father, Kevin M. Graham. A proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Janessa currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee, continuing to uplift hearts and transform lives—the Janessa’s Way.
